Employment Exchanges(Compulsory Notification of Vacancies)Act,1959 and Employment Exchanges(Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Rules, 1960
This is a Central Act pertaining to notification of vacancies and submission of Employment Returns to Employment Exchanges by Employers . Enactment, modification, etc of this Act & Rules is done by the Central Government but its implementation/enforcement mainly rest with the respective State Governments/UT Administration.
Based on the recommendations of the Second National Commission on Labour, the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India had taken steps to simplify, amalgamate and rationalize the relevant provisions of the existing various Central Labour Laws into 4 Labour Codes.
In the process, the relevant provisions of EE(CNV) Act, 1959 have been subsumed in the Code on Social Security 2020.
For subsuming the existing Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act 1959, one Chapter (Chapter-XIII) on Employment Information & Monitoring has been added in the Code on Social Security 2020.
