- All matters related to Employment Market Information Programme.
- Monitoring the of implementation of the provisions of the EE(CNV) Act, 1959 and Rules made thereunder(now subsumed in Code on Social Security, 2020) on the basis of the reports received from the States/Union Territories.
- Improvement and development (both quantitative coverage & qualitative up-gradation) of EMI Programme in consultation with States/UTs.
- Feed back to the State / UT Govts. for taking corrective measures for improving coverage and reliability of data and tabulation of data received through Employment Return(s)
- Preparing Schemes/programmes for improvement of EMI Programme.
- Collection, compilation , analysis of EMI data and release of the reports at national level.
- Collection of data from various Ministries/Departments related to EMI Programame.
- Related matters on the subject i.e. handling Parliament Questions/Assurances, PGs/RTI Applications/Court Cases, providing information to other Sections/Departments, etc.
